The Carnegie UK Trust is proud to continue its relationship with the Festival of Politics as a strategic partner in 2013. This year, our organisation celebrates its centenary: 100 years of supporting innovations in thought and public policy, and of investing in groundbreaking practical initiatives. With a mission to promote wellbeing in communities across the country, the Trust has worked hard over the last century to help shape our social infrastructure for the better. Nothing has been more important in that mission than our work to promote public engagement in decision-making, democracy and community development. Interaction between governing institutions and the public is vital to the health of any civil society. The Festival of Politics is a great example of this interaction in practice. It throws open the doors of the Scottish Parliament to public discourse and new thinking, bringing Members of the Scottish Parliament and citizens together for free exchange and debate. The Carnegie UK Trust continues to be excited by our enduring relationship with this landmark event.
