At the Scottish Parliament

Advance booking is also available at the Scottish Parliament, in person only. Unsold tickets may be available on the day of the event. They will be available only from the Scottish Parliament Visitor Reception, in person.

Pricing

The full ticket price is indicated under each event description. The concession ticket price is indicated in brackets after the full price. Concessions are available to children aged 5 to 16, people aged 60 and over, students, unemployed people and disabled people. A carer accompanying a disabled person is admitted free of charge.

Tickets for free events can be obtained in advance, subject to a nominal booking fee.

Ticket Collection

Tickets booked via Hub Tickets can be sent by post if booked seven or more working days in advance. A charge of 60 pence to cover postage will be made for this service.

Tickets booked via Hub Tickets can be collected from the Hub up to 14.00 on the day before the event. Tickets pre-paid via Hub Tickets can be collected from the Scottish Parliament on the day of the event. They must be collected at least 30 minutes before the start of the event. In all cases tickets pre-booked by credit or debit card can be collected by the card-holder only upon production of their card. Tickets booked at the Scottish Parliament will be issued on the spot.

Times

The start time for each event is indicated under the relevant event description. The projected finish time is indicated in brackets. Please arrive at the Scottish Parliament for all events at least 30 minutes beforehand for security clearance.

Latecomers may not be admitted.

Crèche - To book a place, subject to availability, contact 0131 348 6192.

During August the crèche is open Monday to Friday: 08.00-18.00.

The crèche is also available on Saturday 23 August: 11.00-18.30.

Guided tours of the Scottish Parliament will not be available from Monday 18 August until Monday 25 August inclusive.

Visiting and Contacting Us

Access to the Scottish Parliament building is free. During August the Scottish Parliament is open Weekdays: 10.00-17.30

Saturday: 11.00-17.30

Sundays: Closed

Last admission is 30 minutes before closing.

How to Find Us

All Festival of Politics events take place at the Scottish Parliament. We advise visitors to use public transport to access the Scottish Parliament where possible. Details of local buses and other public transport can be obtained from Traveline. We are a 15-minute walk from Edinburgh Waverley train station. The nearest car parks are St John's Hill or Waverley ( New Street ). Coach parking is available at Regent Road .

Access

To help us make Festival of Politics events as accessible as possible, please specify requirements when booking tickets.

All of the venues:

3 are accessible by lift or level access, although some venues may have a limited number of spaces for wheelchair users 3 welcome guide dogs or other assistance dogs

3 are fitted with induction loop facilities

British Sign Language (BSL) interpretation will be provided automatically at some events (see programme). If you require a BSL interpreter for any other events, or if you require another support service, please contact the Scottish Parliament as soon as possible.
