On the final day of the Festival of Politics, historian and TV presenter Dan Snow spoke about the battle of Culloden
and what it meant for the future of Scotland and Britain. He took the audience through the events leading up to 1746, as well as fielding questions at the end. He said of the Scottish Parliament: "It is a wonderful building, and it was fantastic to be able to speak at such a venue." On holiday in Scotland, former US presidential candidate Michael Dukakis attended the Culloden event with his wife Kitty. It was chaired by Nora Radcliffe MSP.
Children enjoyed a craft and storytelling workshop, with Children 1st Storyworks. It was one of many family events during the Festival.
