Former foreign secretary and leader of the SDP David Owen discusses his life in politics with Presiding Officer Alex Fergusson on the final day of the 2009 Festival of Politics. During an hour-long conversation, Lord Owen praised Scotland on its ten years of devolution. He said: "I think Scotland has done very well. The Scottish Parliament has shown us what we wanted to see regarding devolution. It’s a measure of qualified independence and I think that’s necessary." |
Scottish Youth Theatre perform a revival of Lara Jane Bunting's play Love But Her, which tells the story of Jean Armour - wife of Robert Burns. The play features Burns' songs and poems, and charts the couple's great love and turbulent relationship, his infidelities, and their grief at the death of their children, together with the challenges faced by Jean as she changed from being the wife of a farmer to that of a celebrity poet. |
