Untangling article 31 - Children's Right to Play, Culture and Arts

Saturday 25 August, 10:00-11:00, Committee Room 1, FREE

Children's right to play, leisure, culture and the arts is established in article 31 of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child. Article 31 rights, described as the least understood in the Convention, are fertile ground for a richer understanding. The UN is drafting a 'General Comment' on these rights. Chair Andrew Schoolbread, Scottish Out of School Care Network, with panellists Katie Bruce, Glasgow Life, Theresa Casey, International Play Association and Juliet Harris, Together ask: What can we say in Scotland about children's enjoyment of these rights - and what does the current state of play say about us?
